General Function:

This position provides Shipping, Receiving, Packaging, Sorting and MRO Inventory support, ensuring production has required material needed to meet schedule, customer product is shipped on –time and minimum and maximum balances are maintained in MRO.

 

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Always operates and act in Safe manner, promoting safety with those related to warehouse/distribution.
  • Performs daily forklift Safety checks and reports / documents out-of-compliance concerns for correction on maintenance work orders.
  • Coordinate the correct movement of raw material, work in process and finished goods within the plant and external warehouse, working closely with dock forklift and production forklift operators to maintain organized process material flow and inventory.
  • Coordinate product shipments to external customers, as well as satisfy other shipping needs. Ensure internal and external customer demands and requests are satisfied at all times.
  • Responsible for inventory analysis of raw materials to replenish accordingly.
  • Preparation of required receiving and shipping documentation, including but not limited to BOL’s and inspections.
  • Utilization and maintenance of operational ERP (SAP or similar) and TMS systems.
  • Work with Production Planning Manager and Controller in lowering and maintaining budgeted inventory levels.
  • Participate and lead cycle counting activities as part of the physical inventory process of both MRO and Finished Goods.
  • Audits warehouse for 5S and FIFO procedures.
  • Ensure that receiving activities for incoming material, parts and all other incoming shipments are handled properly, inspected and documented.
  • Maintains forklift spare parts and any other warehouse supplies needed.
  • Maintain OTIF reporting, with accuracy when applicable.
  • Manage MRO Inventory and balances (Purchase requisitions initiation, QAD input, Receiving, Investigation, Work Order Processing).
  • Investigation of undocumented receipts and returns.
  • Closing daily / shift PO’s per shipping documents
  • Re-Order MRO using min/max, restock, MRO part shelves.
  • Maintain organized system for part recognition, identification including labeled parts, bins, location map, sign-outs, visual factory, 5S & Lean mythology
  • Source and work through acquisition of spare parts and materials of the operation.
  • Maintain working relationship with vendors and continually challenge pricing advantages for competiveness.
  • Manage processing of plant recyclables and scrap per proper disposition.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years shipping/receiving/inventory experience in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution environment
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Kaizen / Lean Six Sigma training and exposure
  • Experience in food grade product manufacturing
     
    Computer Skills:
    Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Applications)
