Sales Segment Director Petfood BU Food Europe

We are looking for a Sales Segment Director Petfood for our Business Unit Food in Europe. Aim of the role is, to manage and develop the sales segment function & customer centric team, to influence circa €200m of Trivium’s total revenue, to increase long term customer loyalty, to develop and design a customer centric driven strategy, to build up a strong technical knowledge of Trivium’s product portfolio to professionally represent the business in the wider market.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand the company's existing customer base across all product lines to assist the
  • company in hitting growth objectives
  • Direct ownership and accountability for Segment on growth, customer satisfaction and the increase in long term loyalty
  • Develop and Implement Segment market strategy
  • Drives new service or product development projects
  • Develops Segment Strategy in alignment with overall sector & commercial strategy and in conjunction with Sales Director
  • Develops customer dedicated strategies
  • Sets Segment objectives
  • Manages Segment Key Account Managers (and own Key Account if applicable), local Sales Managers, Customer Centric Team(s) (if not covered by KA or local SM)
  • Improves Segment profitability through pricing, optimization and differentiation
  • Optimizes customer and product portfolio in alignment with Sector (footprint) strategy
  • Consolidation & upward communication of segment market knowledge
  • Aligns segment strategy with Operations & Supply Chain
  • Provides monthly Segment reporting
  • Explores growth opportunities (prospects, new subsegments, new product development) 
  • Optimizes commercial resources (including channel management) based on customer requirements and objectives
  • Rolls out centrally initiated sales optimization projects
  • Collaborate in Request for Quotations with deal Support team commercial excellence unit
  • Manage Pricing and Profitability (in conjunction with deal Support team and Finance team)
  • Intervene on major quality resolutions
  • Visit main filling sites to deepen customer knowledge and become the true Segment market expert
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by the company, or Sales Director BU Food

 

Requirements

Education & Training:

•      Must possess an “Of Service” attitude towards customers and colleagues alike

•      Professional appearance and demeanor

•      Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment

•      Must be comfortable in office, factory and warehouse environments

•      Ability to work with senior management to plant level employees

•      Ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot-table experience a plus) and PowerPoint

•      Fluent English speaker

•      Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider candidates with appropriate industry experience in lieu of higher education qualifications

 

Experience:

•      Previous experience in a strategic commercial management role.

•      Leading a team

•      Working in a matrix organization

•      Minimum three years of B2B industrial sales or distribution sales experience, preferably with industrial-oriented UN packaging.

•      Experience with SalesForce.com or similar CRM tool an asset

•      Strong Leadership skills are essential

•      Highly Skilled in Negotiation techniques

•      Ability to build intense and long-lasting business relationships with customers

•      Proven track record in developing and maintaining a team driven by a culture of performance
