Job Summary:

The Tax Accountant will provide primary support for all aspects of tax compliance and tax accounting requirements. Executing the responsibilities of this role, the Tax Accountant will interact with a variety of accounting, finance, and operations personnel throughout the organization. Responsible for the preparations and review of tax returns, including ensuring all federal and state income tax returns are prepared and in compliance with applicable laws.


Job Duties:

  • Prepares/reviews miscellaneous non-income tax returns, including gross receipts, sales and use property tax return and GST return.
  • Researches and documents non-income tax issues
  • Prepare tax calculations to support the preparation of the US and state returns
  • Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax calculations and extensions
  • Assist with the preparation of the interim and annual US GAAP tax provisions; including book/tax differences, return to provision true up, effective tax rate calculation, tax account roll-forward and income tax payable analysis.
  • Assist management with internal control procedures and documentation
  • Complete Account Reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Completes tax research and other special projects as assigned
  • Assist with income tax and indirect tax audits as necessary
  • Research and prepare work papers for various book to tax differences
  • Prepare/Review other various tax filings: Annual reports, Intangible Tax, and other fillings
  • Keep abreast of current developments in the tax area
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned



Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
  • A minimum of 5+ years of related experience in accounting required
  • Experience with multi-state sales and income tax is a plus
  • CPA or MBA is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal-written, interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external customers and team
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team




Work Environment:

This position is expected to operate on-site at our Youngstown, Ohio location. There is flexibility for limited remote work which will be handled on a case-by-case basis. The position will work in an office environment where sitting for prolong periods of time and using a computer, telephone and other office electronics are critical. The position will also need to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
