Demand Planning Data Analyst
Role overview:
The Forecast and Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data to predict future trends, generating reports, and providing actionable insights to support business decisions. This role involves working closely with various departments to understand their data needs, develop models, and communicate findings effectively.
As a part of the IBP System Demand Planning team at Ardagh Metal Packaging Europe (AMPE), you will play a critical role in optimizing our demand planning processes and driving business success through accurate forecasting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Reporting to the Demand Planning Director, your primary focus will be on forecasting demand for metal cans and ends across our European markets. By leveraging IBP system and data analysis along with collaboration with cross-functional teams & customers, you will ensure accurate demand forecasts that support our business objectives and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Analysis:
Gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external sources. Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and relevance. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. Translate complex data analysis into actionable business strategies.

Forecasting and Modelling:
Develop and maintain statistical models to forecast future business metrics. Use predictive analytics techniques to project trends and outcomes. Continuously improve models based on new data and changing business conditions. Analyse market trends, customer demand patterns, promotional activities, and other relevant factors to identify drivers of demand and potential risks or opportunities.
Utilize statistical models, SKU segmentation, PLM (product life cycle management), historical data, and market insights to develop accurate demand forecasts for AMPE products across European markets.
Continuously monitor key KPIS for the function. Drive forecast accuracy metrics and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure robust root cause analysis, make adjustments and improvements as needed.

Reporting and Visualization:
Create and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders. Develop data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to communicate insights clearly and effectively. Present findings and recommendations to demand planning director and other key stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:
SAP IBP System Management: Work closely with systems and business transformation teams to oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our Integrated Business Planning system to support effective demand planning processes. Be an active partner to collaborate with consultants to further Drive IBP systems efficiency and ways of working.
Work closely with sales, commercial excellence, customers, and supply chain teams to gather input, share insights, and align demand forecasts with business plans and strategies. Independently running of volume clinics with Key Accounts and Regional teams for a robust monthly S&OP process input and output.

Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance demand planning processes, tools, and methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company goals.
Professional requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in either of the fields - business, finance, supply chain management, statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, statistical forecasting, or supply chain management roles within the manufacturing or packaging industry, preferably with exposure to European markets.
- Proficiency in demand planning software and ERP systems. Experience with IBP systems such as SAP IBP or similar platforms is highly desirable along with a good understanding of the S&OP processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights.
- Expert user of the MS Office, especially advance Excel. Knowledge of coding and other languages could be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a huge focus data analytics and driving continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
