Group IT Manager Supply Chain Solutions (m/f/d)

in Bonn, Germany or any Ardagh Europe office location

Role Description: 

  • Team lead, internal analyst & project manager for Supply Chain Solutions, focusing on SAP ERP (Sales & Distribution, Transportation Planning, Logistics Execution, Warehouse Management, Procurement, Material Management) and the interoperability between ERP, satellite systems (Frontend solutions, MES, Transportation Planning, CRM, and others) and upstream integrations to Reporting, S&OP and Integrated Business Planning Solutions

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as Group IT operational manager and strategic partner for our functional business units and their process owners in terms of operational excellence, process enhancements, change requests and application support
  • Plan, prioritize & manage Group IT Supply Chain Solutions operations, project pipeline & budget
  • Lead Group IT Supply Chain Solutions team (~ nine team members)
  • Cooperate with other IT Services teams to integrate Business and Process functions into SAP ERP systems and ensure interoperability between multiple IT systems
  • Monitor, control & enhance sourced Application Support Services, Cloud Services, etc.
  • Develop SAP templates, create training materials, support user testing and solution deployment
  • Lead and assist projects of various sizes with internal and external team members



  • Business or Computer Science degree at University level (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of five years in an international manufacturing environment (SAP ERP Role) working with multicultural teams
  • Solid knowledge of supply chain processes in the manufacturing context as well as incident, problem and change management (ITIL)
  • Profound knowledge of SAP ERP systems, especially in Logistics-relevant modules such as SD, MM, LES/WM and their integration with other SAP Cloud and on-premise solutions & non-SAP solutions as well as upstream integrations to e.g. Reporting, Integrated Business Planning, …
  • IT project management experience with a proven track record of delivering projects in function, on time and within budget
  • Project Management certification (PRINCE, IAPM, SCRUM etc.) is beneficial
  • Analytical and proactive team player with foresight, overview, self-initiative and willingness to learn
  • Confident self-starter with effective client-facing communication and rapport building skills to ensure results in a cross-functional and multi-stakeholder organization
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, pro-active in approaching business managers with updates, ideas or concerns on daily operations and projects
  • Taking ownership on the resolution of incidents and fulfillment of service requests
  • English business fluent (C1/C2 level); German or other European languages are beneficial
