SME Manager Input Cost Pricing and Hedging (m/f/d)

 

 

This role is to provide a dedicated Controlling Business Partner to the Procurement organization and Finance/Treasury Organization with a focus on Input Cost pricing and Hedging and with a view on EBITDA and Working capital/Payment terms. The scope of the role includes Metal, ODM, Packaging, Energy, Other plant Cost incl Consumables. Hedging relates to Metal (LME) and Energy (Electricity and Gas)

 

           Controlling Business partner to Procurement on Input Cost pricing and Procurement Excellence:

  • Scope includes Metal, ODM, Packaging, Energy, Other plant Cost incl Consumables
  • Provide to Procurement and Finance relevant input drivers (e.g. forecasted consumption) for proper tendering
  • Conceive and implement tools to measure ‘Pricing Efficiency’ (e.g. Final purchase vs Market price development)
  • Challenge procurement and suggest improvement areas Globally and regionally = Support Ksenia? (e.g. Shared benefit from Supplier Cost Reduction programs)
  • Follow up on cash in from agreed Supplier rebates

    Controlling Business partner to Procurement and Finance/Treasury on Hedging:
  • Provide to Procurement and Finance/Treasure relevant input drivers (e.g. forecasted consumption) for proper hedging.
  • Join Hedging Committee and propose value added hedging activities.
  • Reviewing and monitoring effective implementation of Hedging policies. Including analyses of under-/overhedging.
  • Understanding Hedging impacts in P&L and OCF.
  • Reviewing and monitoring price developments key cost categories for additional hedging requirements.

    Support effective implementation and execution of Input Cost pass through mechanisms
  • Metal/ODM/Energy/Other (Freight in scope of sales Controlling)
  • Support implementation of measurement/reporting on pass through effectiveness (tracking actual input cost development vs what is passed through to our customers) back 2 back on price, back 2 back on volumes.
  • Suggest improvement opportunities on existing or new pass through mechanisms

    Co-ordination of Forecast and Budget processes on:
  • Input Cost pricing and Hedging assumptions with procurement and relevant Finance functions 
  • Metal Management timing misalignment 

    Closing and Reporting
  • Price Variance analyses and follow on required actions
  • Impact supplier mix change on working capital analyses (feedback procurement)
     
  • Support with various business requests on pricing incl Capex payback calculation Energy saving/Net price
  • LRP support
  • Training of plant controllers in specific area

 

Requirements:

  • Technical skills on Hedging Controlling and Accounting.
  • Good communication/convincing skills 
  • Good level of English – other languages welcome
  • Affinity for figures and systems, 
  • Project leading skills
  • Drive for results 
  • Understanding of budget and Forecast process
  • System knowledge:  SAP / advanced Excel skills – Planning tools
  • Other office tools base knowledge

 

Education, Training, Computer Skills:

  • University degree in economics with a specialization in controlling
  • Possibly an additional or combined Commercial excellence degree
  • Experiences in a procurement/Treasury environment (metal and energy commodity hedging)

 

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in (Procurement) controlling, having worked with Hedging.
