Director of Sales - Beer

Responsible for assisting the Beer & Beverage VP Sales with forecasting, developing, and executing the Ardagh Group business plan for the Craft Beer & Beverage segments of business. Coordinates sales activities with customer accounts and prospects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct account management responsibility for assigned customers.
  • Helping to build the overall and specific category level commercial strategies.
  • Execution of strategy and achievement of key metrics of volume, EBITDA and Operating Cash Flow (OCF).  
  • Gain a broad understanding of the Craft Beer & Beverage markets including demand and competitive landscape. 
  • Assist with LRP, Budgeting and Monthly Sales Projections. 
  • Support the forecast improvement initiatives across all segments.
  • Monitor inventory turnover per planned objectives and develop action plans.
  • Assist credit and collection department with collection efforts
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers.
  • Management, coaching, mentoring, and training support for direct reports.
  • Work with team to identify and target customers and products when necessary to meet company sales objectives for growth, margin improvement or discontinuation of supply.  
  • Maintain timely communication of customer problems or potential problems to Sales Management and recommend/implement corrective action.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, Engineering or related field, MBA is preferred OR
  • 10+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in a packaging industry 
  • Depth of expertise in Sustainability, strengthened through appropriate training and qualifications
  • Good planning & Organizational skills, Detail oriented, Ability to analyze data, 
  • Identify problems, make and carry out recommendations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, Able to lead and interact with people at all levels of the organization, internal and external customers
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft applications
  • Can work independently and with teams when needed
