Role description:
The IT Engineer – Hosting and Provisioning Services oversees the day-to-day datacenter and virtual infrastructure operations, infrastructure, business partners, and support processes for the Ardagh Group’s Hosting and Provisioning solutions. This role is responsible for contributing to IT projects, change management, recovery solutions, and proposing improvements and providing level three support to IT regional support team to ensure an efficient, reliable, responsive, and secure datacenter and virtual infrastructure solution.   

Responsibilities:
•    Manage the operations, installations, and logistics of systems in the outsourced datacenter, cloud and the Ardagh Group local site computer rooms
•    Provide monitoring and escalation of support tickets and requests assigned to the outsourced datacenter and cloud hosting and provisioning operations staff
•    Coordinate root-cause analysis by hosting and service providers and internal IT resources to develop corrective action plans and ensure continuous improvement
•    Coordinate patching and updates of the OS, DB, and underlying systems with the datacenter and cloud hosting teams and the internal Ardagh Group stakeholders
•    Collaborate with IT team members in Ardagh Group to evolve and optimize service level processes and approaches in a globally consistent way
•    Manage usage and consumption of assets and maintain costs within budget
•    Drive continuous improvement within the IT organization
•    Partner with different IT teams, customers, partners and stakeholders to understand business requirements for administration, configuration, and support for maintenance or enhancement of existing systems
•    Ensure that solutions meet all compliance, legal, internal controls, and accounting standards
•    Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
•    Communicates progress, expectations, and escalation of problems to management for awareness and/or resolution
•    Align with management to prioritize issues and modify the plan as necessary based on changing priorities

Minimum skills / qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field
•    Three (3) years’ experience in datacenter and/or cloud hosting and provisioning including three (3) in a multisite, corporate environment
•    High level of technical knowledge and experience with HyperV server virtualization, SAN architecture and networking concepts
•    Previous experience with Commvault backup management, Microsoft HyperV and SAN management including relevant support and scripting tools (Dell server hardware, Microsoft SCVMM, Powershell, CLI, and Microsoft 365)
•    Ability to work occasional weekends and off hour shifts to support migration activities and incident management
•    Ability to travel up to 10%

 

Preferred skills / qualifications: 
•    Three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing 
•    Relevant Microsoft certifications
•    High level of background troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Linux server operating systems
•    Ability to research and analyze complex problems, determine root-cause, and implement corrective action
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite including, Excel and Word
•    Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
•    Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills
