People Development Manager (Hybrid)

Purpose of the Job:

The People Development Manager works with the business to manage the people development processes and programs for all business functions in Metal North America. This role will take primary direction from the Vice President of Metal- North America and will collaborate with the Group T&D functions as well as the Glass NA PDM.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leading and facilitating centrally run Ardagh Group Leadership Journey Programs, including AGILE (Ardagh Growing International Leadership Excellence) Leading with Excellence and Leading with Impact
  • Development, facilitation, and logistics planning for Local AGILE First Line Manager/Supervisor training programs.
  • Partnering with HR and Plant Managers to perform gap analyses and design programs that build people management and leadership skills at our manufacturing plant locations
  • Coordination of individual development plans for participants identified through PDR, Succession Planning or AGILE program participation.
  • Process Owner for PDR (Personal Development Review), Succession Management, Cross-Functional Mentoring Program, and/or the Management Trainee Program
  • Project management of organizational development & employee engagement initiatives
  • Development of leadership and management training content for the Ardagh Learning Platform
  • Administration of psychometric tools, 360 assessments, and feedback sessions
  • Leadership Coaching
  • Participation in the global People Development Manager working group

 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with all organizational levels
  • Strong facilitation skills using adult learning techniques
  • Outstanding detail orientation, organization, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key business leaders
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership assessment, development, and performance management
  • Key knowledge of the principles and methods of managing organizational change, leadership development, talent management/succession planning, facilitation, coaching, and learning
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change at all levels of the organization
  • Understanding of business functions from a “big picture” perspective
  • Proactive, hands-on, results-oriented style with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to travel as needed to plant/corporate locations, between 25% and 40% of the time; some international travel may be required.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, HR, Organizational Development, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of training and facilitation experience
  • 3-5 years of experience using psychometric tools, such as DISC, MBTI, CEB Talent Central, or other
  • 5+ years in a supervisory role, managing others, and/or other demonstrated leadership experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPLP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP Certified
  • Coach Certification, or participation in a formal coach-training program
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  Occasional lifting of boxed training materials is required up to 50 lbs.

 

Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office and training room environment with travel to manufacturing plant locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, projectors, and photocopiers.
