Batch & Furnace Operator – Double Days

(1800 Hours)

Doncaster Plant

Role description

We currently have a vacancy for a Batch & Furnace Operator at Doncaster, reporting to the B&F Team Leader

Responsibilities:
  • Handling of raw material deliveries, storage and mixing.
  • Operation of vehicles such as loading shovel, tipper lorry and FLT (full training will be given).
  • Batch & furnace operation, housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Daily department routine check (RCM).
  • High level of housekeeping applying 5S tools.
  • Cullet testing and transport.
  • Application of Lean Six Sigma tools to improve performance in the department.
Required skills / qualifications:
  • Be organised, self-motivated.
  • Have a high attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Have a commitment to continuous improvement & LSS.
  • Have good IT skills (Windows, Office and SAP).
  • Ideally hold an LSS yellow or green belt.
  • Knowledge of mathematics or chemistry will be advantageous.

  • Salary Minimum £33,263 - £40,029 Maximum per annum
