Role description
The role will be based in the Inspection Department reporting directly to the Site Quality Manger. The purpose of the role is to ensure containers have been manufactured to the correct specification through effective calibration of Inspection equipment and lead the calibration team effectively.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of the gauge calibration system includes offline measuring equipment as required.
  • Set up & issue of gauges for hot end & cold end use.
  • Generation & modification of digital quality plans.
  • Verification of shop floor measuring equipment including recalibration.
  • Measurement of containers on each job change – Automated and manual.
  • Involvement with Customer & Regulatory auditors – BRCGS/ISO.
  • Trial reporting for new & modified containers including strength tests.
Required skills / qualifications:
  • The ability to supervise and lead a small team of people.
  • Understand the company core values and demonstrate Ardagh Glass leadership behaviours.
  • Have experience in glass container manufacture regarding tolerances & defects.
  • Understand equipment used to measure glass containers.
  • Have good communication & analytical skills.
  • Be proactive, working on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Have the ability to organise and display good time management skills.
