Ardagh Glass is a key worker business and has proudly operated continuously throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Doncaster business unit has manufactured glass containers since 1968 and is part of a leading supplier in glass packaging solutions for the world’s leading brands.

We are currently seeking to strengthen its operation with the recruitment of an Electrician at its Doncaster site, reporting to the Electrical Team Leader in the Plant Engineering Department.

 

The main duties of the role include:

  • Performing Preventative Maintenance (PM)
  • Attending Breakdowns
  • General instrumentation activities
  • Small electrical installations
  • Design and build of control panels and systems
  • PLC programming, although not essential as training will be given
  • Ability to understand technical drawings, including electrical schematics
  • General Factory Electrical maintenance

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Gained a recognised Apprenticeship in Electrical engineering, or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Experience of single and three phase electrical systems, AC/DC, and inverter drives
  • Commitment and enthusiasm to support a 24/7 process including out of hours support
  • Excellent communication skill
  • The ability to follow instruction and work under pressure
  • IT/Computer skills
  • A commitment to continuous improvement

 

What we offer:

  • The salary is based on the Ardagh Glass grading structure, this role is a Grade 6.  The current minimum increment being £27,060, working towards the maximum of the grade currently £33,355. This does not include overtime payments.
  • Typical hours of work being Monday to Thursday 7am - 3pm and Friday 7am - 2.30pm
  • Holiday entitlement - 25 days per year plus the 8 statutory bank holidays.
