Are you ready to take on a pivotal role where your financial expertise drives business success? Ardagh Glass Benelux is seeking a dynamic Finance Director to spearhead financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to our operational teams.

 

About the Role:

As the Finance Director, you will take charge of all Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, accounting functions, reporting, and ad hoc analysis. Your role extends beyond traditional financial responsibilities; you'll collaborate closely with the Regional Operations Director and Finance Director of Ardagh Glass Europe to enhance business processes and fortify operations across the region.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and inspire a finance team, comprising skilled Accounting & Controlling professionals (6 FTE).
  • Monthly and quarterly closings, ensuring timely delivery of comprehensive financial reports through our group reporting system (HFM).
  • Drive FP&A initiatives, including monthly P&L forecasts, quarterly projections, cash flow analysis, investment evaluations, annual budgeting, and long-term strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Benelux MT and European leadership to achieve business goals and commitments.
  • Conduct sharp analyses of monthly financial and operational results to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Refine, monitor, and enhance accounting and administrative protocols in accordance with the Group Accounting Manual, maintaining a robust SOX control framework.
  • Ensure consistency in financial reporting and planning methodologies across AGP-E regions, promote knowledge transfer, and embrace best practices.
  • Lead projects focused on cost optimization and process improvement across the organization.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and the compilation of financial statements for various Dutch entities (5 legal entities), ensuring compliance with local regulations, laws, and reporting requirements (DNB, CBS).
  • Supervise tax reporting for the fiscal unit, enforcing the Tax Control Framework in collaboration with the Tax department in Dublin.
  • Foster relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, insurers, to promote operational flexibility.
  • Prepare monthly business reviews and other management presentations, providing strategic insights.
  • Lead innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team and across the organization.

Education & Training

  • University Degree
  • Background in Finance/Accountancy

 

Experience
 

  • Minimum of 10 years diverse experience in financial roles, including 6 years in managerial positions, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial management.
  • Demonstrated success in professionalizing financial organizations, particularly within the industrial/manufacturing sector, showcasing the ability to lead transformative change.
  • A genuine passion for serving as an advisor and strategic partner that transcends the financial realm, providing actionable insights and strategic advice to stakeholders.
  • Guiding financial departments and overseeing financial organizations across diverse geographical areas, demonstrating proficiency in navigating global complexities.
