Financial Accountant 


This role is a key member of the Dublin accounting team in the Ardagh Group. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with other accountants along with Group Finance, Tax, Treasury and Accounts Payable, the successful candidate will support the accounting and month end process for a number of Irish Corporate entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a person to develop their accounting experience as part of a fast paced, Global business.  The successful candidate will be based in our Head Office in South County Business Park, Leopardstown and will work as part of a small team.

 

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be tasked with a number of varied duties which will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for monthly general ledger processing and preparation of monthly accounts for corporate/head office entities to strict reporting deadlines in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Preparation of balance sheet analysis and reconcilaitions including bank, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, VAT.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for Group entities and delivery of the external audit, liaising with external auditors.
  • Preparation of management accounts, as required.
  • Assist with the management of corporate recharges and associated intercompany settlements and reconciliations.
  • Assist in cost controlling and monitoring group function costs.
  • Executing and working through accounting solutions for issues as they arise as part of month end.
  • Ensuring all processes are completed and complaint within the Group’s SOX controls framework.
  • Drive improvements in the monthly close process.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with other Group Functions (Group Finance, Tax, Treasury) to ensure that financial information is provided on a timely basis and to the highest possible standard.

 

Who are we looking for

  • A professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with industry experience in a similar role advantageous. 
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP/HFM being an advantage.
  • Strong IT skills essential, including an extensive working knowledge of excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and people skills with the ability to integrate and collaborate effectively with people at all levels
  • Self-starter, who has the ability to work within a team and able to demonstrate a high degree of initiative.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic, keen to learn with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Results driven - must be able to work under pressure across a global organisation engaging with multiple stakeholders.
