IS Journeyman Operator

Primary Function:     Journeyman IS Operator Responsible for the operation of the forming machine by maintaining the swab cycle, monitoring process indicators, such as weight, and checking on mechanical issues, such as ware handling, lehr loading, etc.

Working Procedure:

1. Responsible for performing all tasks in accordance with the established safety standards and procedures.
2. Responsible for maintaining the quality standards established for the ware by working with the Machine Upkeep and Shop Inspector to identify and remove defective ware from the production population.
3. Responsible for maximizing the production efficiency of the shop by working with the Machine Upkeep to identify and correct defective ware as quickly as possible this limits ware loss and downtime.
4. Responsible for minimizing the amount of ware held for marginal quality without jeopardizing the quality standards by communicating problems with shift personnel and Supervisor, as they arise.
5. Responsible for minimizing the possibility of customer complaints or rejections.
6. Assists on job changes and any other work assigned by the supervisor.
7. Maintains all Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities.
