Primary Function:     To repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain glass forming machines and related equipment.

Working Procedure: 

  1. Repairs, replaces, and adjusts components of glass forming machines or related equipment.
  2. Installs new machines or equipment following blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
  3. Performs preventive maintenance on glass forming machines or related equipment.
  4. Aligns shear blades.
  5. Checks and adjusts mold hinges and neck rings.
  6. Welds and cuts machine structured parts.
  7. Completes feeder spout changes.
  8. Assists on mold changes.
  9. Sets up starwheel and loader.
  10. Builds new pushers and adjusts for good ware handling on machine.
  11. Adjusts shears, sprays, and repairs same.
  12. Maintains lubricating pumps and checks each shift for cycle.
  13. Maintains good water supply on down spouts.
  14. Performs other miscellaneous duties essential to the operation, as directed.
  15. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  16. Observes safety precautions and plant rules in order to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent material loss and damage to equipment.
  17. Maintains all Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities.
