JOB DESCRIPTION - ELECTRICIAN
COMPENSATION: $44.73 - 4on/4off schedule,12 hours shift with overtime after 8 hours
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Installs, repairs, constructs, adjusts, overhauls, calibrates and service all types of electronic and electrical equipment in a safe manner
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Help build a zero-accident culture in the plant. Prioritize safety as our #1 value and lead by example on following all safety rules. Participate in promoting safe work behaviors. Take proactive approach to safety in the plant along with active participation in the plant safety programs.
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specification, codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Analyzes all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, etc.
- Makes sketches of parts and layouts; designs and constructs adaptions or conversions of component parts.
- Fabricates parts as required, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
- Makes mechanical and electrical repairs as required in connection with the servicing of electronic equipment.
- Makes or repairs electrical cable splices.
- Records parts used from inventory.
- Performs any and all types of plantwide electrical maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Install, modify, rebuild, repair or overall all types of electronic/electrical equipment and controls with an emphasis on plant operations.
- Remove and/or install electronic/electrical equipment and parts.
- Modify, maintain and install PLC programs.
- Analyze and correct electrical/electronic problems.
- Must be familiar with electrical/electronic tools, gauges, calibration and testing equipment.
- Must have a working knowledge of camera/vision systems, computers, hand and power tools, bench lathe, pipe threader, acetylene torch, etc.
- Must be familiar with motors, generators, transformers, conduits, bus ducts, fittings, wires, cable, transistors and other electrical/electronic gauges, meters and control devices.
- Familiarization with Plant production and communication equipment is required.
- Must be able to modify, maintain, and install PLC programs.
- Must be able to develop new programs as directed.
- Identify PLC problems, troubleshoot PLCs and maintain PLC updated documentation and wiring changes.
- Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done.
- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications, codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Make sketches of parts and layouts, design and construct adaptations or conversions of component parts, including the necessary phases of development work.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance inspection of assigned equipment, report findings and take appropriate action.
- Write and perform maintenance work orders as required.
- Make mechanical and electrical repairs as required in servicing electronic equipment, including assembling, modifying, repairing and replacement of individual electronic parts within components, circuit modules, and printed circuit boards.
- Maintain performance inventory and maintenance records for electrical and electronic equipment.
- Advise operators, mechanics, and other electrical maintenance personnel of standard operating procedures and requirements for electronic and electrical equipment and controls.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment notes and corrective action taken.
- Operate equipment and assist production as directed.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Familiar with personal protective equipment.
- Mechanically inclined; familiar with hand tools.
- Experience in manufacturing preferred
- Ability to navigate computer-based programs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Journeyman electrician designation with at least three years
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Able to stand for a long duration in excess of 8 hours.
- Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly.
- Able to lift to 40 pounds.
- Able to withstand heat, cold, vibrations, odors, fumes, and loud noise.
- Able to climb stairs frequently.
