PURPOSE OF THE JOB:     
The Palletizer Operator is responsible for tending the auto-palletizer to ensure cans are palletized correctly.  This includes inspecting, sorting, transferring, and stacking cans that come through the conveyer to be palletized.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 
•    Understands and complies with position related safety SOP’s and work instructions, especially for Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Housekeeping, SQF, and Personal Protective Equipment.
•    Tend to palletizer to ensure continuous production.
•    Inspect and pull defective cans, adjust titled cans, and clear jams in the production line.
•    Verify correct number of layers on each pallet.
•    Maintain supplies and cleanliness of the palletizer area.
•    Examine, test, and measure cans from assigned equipment for quality specifications using appropriate gauges and instruments to record data.
•    Check product for visual defects.
•    Perform preventative maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment.
•    Analyze spoilage to determine cause and take corrective action.
•    Analyze and record comments regarding cause of production delays.
•    Notify supervisors of any incidences regarding recurring equipment malfunctions and/or any corrective action taken.
•    Operate equipment and assist production as directed.
•    Perform other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 
•    Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
•    Mechanically inclined; familiar with hand tools
•    High School diploma or GED required
•    Basic computer skills required
•    1+ years fast-paced production experience preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•    Able to stand in place for a long duration of time, in excess of 8 hours a day
•    Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly
•    Able to lift 15+ pounds
•    Exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, odors, fumes, and loud noise

The starting hourly base for this role is $20.81 and goes up to $28.62 dependent on years of service within the company. Please note that the wage provided is a good faith estimate and is only applicable for California residents. The wage could be different for applicants who do not reside in California.
