PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

The Quality Control/Final Inspector is responsible for all quality related items in the back end of the process and for final inspection of the product.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

  • Understands and complies with position related safety SOP’s and work instructions, especially for Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Handling, Machine Guarding, Housekeeping, SQF, and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Assist with the HFI process to include documentation, production accounting, disposition, rework activities, sampling, and maintaining HFI areas
  • Perform daily quality records review of the continuous verification process as required.
  • Perform audits of various quality systems as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance of quality function documentation such as forms, instructions, training guides, as well as records for Food/Product Safety & GMP compliance in accordance with record retention policies & requirements
  • Attain proficiency and qualification in all quality checks
  • Perform incoming material inspections and verifications as required
  • Assist in quality functions required for dispositioning product
  • Establish and maintain 5S and a high level of housekeeping standards
  • Perform successfully in a self-directed work team environment
  • Assist in new hire training as required
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
  • Experience in container manufacturing preferred
  • Working knowledge of SPC preferred
  • Strong quality related background along with gauge and test equipment experience
  • Proficient with quality control chart interpretation and corrective action identification
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to navigate computer-based programs
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to stand for a long duration in excess of 8 hours.
  • Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly.
  • Able to lift to 40 pounds.
  • Able to withstand heat, cold, vibrations, odors, fumes, and loud noise.
  • Able to climb stairs frequently.
  • Able to visually differentiate colors.

Upon hire, the starting hourly base for this role is $25.56 per hour. The company also offer a Success Share Bonus that is dependent on the plant meeting certain metrics and targets. Please note that the wage provided is a good faith estimate and is only applicable for California residents. The wage could be different for applicants who do not reside in California.
