Corporate Accountant

Role Description:
Responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end closings, general ledger entries, internal control procedures and analyzing large data sets to support management decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform internal control procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Track and analyze the company’s rebate and surcharge program, interfacing with the sales team and sales accounting.
  • Track and analyze the company’s lease accounting program (IFRS 16); including interfacing with multiple departments and plants; manage the lease tracking software and resulting general ledger entries
  • Calculate and analyze multiple reserve balances and propose adjusting entries.
  • Analyze the execution and performance of various programs such as inventory cycle counting and warehouse reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present various information to assist in internal and external audits.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data, including technical accounting guidance and the company’s accounting policies.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • At least two years' experience in accounting or a related field
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports
