Project Mechanical Engineer

Role Description:

Responsible for providing technical expertise carrying out and completing designs engineering drawings construction installation and rebuilding of facilities and equipment within area of discipline. Area of discipline includes but is not limited to heavy industrial equipment, industrial piping, ductwork, conveyors, compressors, dust collectors, blowers, batch systems and other areas associated with glass container manufacturing.

  • Develop solutions for Ardagh Group plants to satisfy capacity customer and quality constraints and ensure they fall within the Ardagh Group Capital Plan.
  • Supervise Capital Projects interface with Contractors and other Ardagh Group engineers during field installations.
  • Prepare conceptual drawings budgetary project estimates and submit RFE s for approval.
  • Provide project definition scope and site surveys.
  • Develop work scopes materials and labor cost estimates submit RFE requests for proposed projects competitive bidding documents for equipment and contract work.
  • Seek potential bidders instruct and coordinate the bidding process as well as prepare bid packages and equipment specifications.
  • Evaluate new processes and equipment and determine the benefits to Ardagh Group.
  • Investigate circumstances surrounding each assigned project and prepare definition of objectives.
  • Prepare calculations design layouts and AutoCAD drawings as required for project study evaluation approval and installation.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least five 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment including prior construction and project management experience.
  • Must be capable of designing and rendering working drawings for industrial piping systems air gas water ventilation air handling and material handling systems as well as other areas associate with glass container manufacturing.
  • Requires glass container process equipment and production familiarity.
  • Experience with preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs and CMMS is a plus.
  • Requires strong communication skills both written and oral and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have good planning and organization skills be detail oriented and can identify problems and make recommendations.
  • Requires good computer skills and good analytical ability. Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
