Strategy and Transformation Director

  • Data Analysis and Research
    • Provides insights and leadership guidance through extensive research about markets, customers, competitors, products and capital projects
    • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends for strategy deployment
  • Strategy Development
    • Analyze competitor market shares in key product segments and identify trends and develop recommendations
    • Lead and drive the development of competitor cost models to inform competitive position with each geography/segment
    • Oversee the analysis of profitability by customer, product, and segment to develop recommendations to shift to more profitable customers/products; socialize with stakeholders and get buy-in
    • Establish and own the strategic proposal for the need for additional plants or expansions to optimize the manufacturing footprint
    • Translate strategy into actionable steps as input to the long-range plan
    • Coach and drive the development of business cases by the project managers for major capital investments/mergers and acquisitions
  • Operations Improvement and Transformation
    • Provide thought leadership, coaching, and analytical support for operations improvement team focused on optimization of supply chain, yield, quality, downtime, and daily plant management
    • Advocate and push the team to achieve a step change improvement in safety by aligning analytical and planning support for safety initiatives targeting risk reduction
    • Lead and support initiatives targeting shifts in corporate culture through behavior change 
  • Business Case Development
    • Drives the development of business cases for capital investments and mergers and acquisitions by evaluating their impact on operations, market and competitive dynamics and company’s financial performance
    • Drives and interprets the development of the financial models to evaluate financial returns of capital and people investments


Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or related discipline; MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, operations, supply chain or related discipline
  • Experience in management consulting a plus
  • Understanding of product manufacturing environment
  • Solid business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, planning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and influence members of other functional areas and executives
  • Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet firm deadlines
