KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
|
- Providing crew leadership - Lead from the front, ensuring safety and operational standards are met. The Lead will inspire by their actions – they will demonstrate Safe Work Practices, Fast Response, along with Documenting and Communicating ideas and resolutions.
- Schedule - Leads will report at least 15 minutes before shift start to help with shift handoff and crew set up for the day.
- Assist and fill in for Production Supervisor which includes running crew when necessary.
- Relay Priorities – The Lead will review priorities and projects with the Production Supervisor. The Lead will review and advise on tasks with plant employees.
- Assist with changeovers.
- Determine if schedule can be adjusted or permits time for overhaul, repair, or readjustments required by equipment.
- Check machines. Analyze any type of mechanical or operational troubles and plan for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustment to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Operate, repair, clean, and lubricate equipment as required to maintain production. Clear jams. Check on strapping and related materials.
- Assist supervisor with Preventative Maintenance (PM) completion – daily, weekly, monthly. Write and perform maintenance work orders as required.
- Read schematics, prints, and exploded views of machinery and equipment. Interpret and follow procedural manual, manufacturer’s guides, and operation instructions.
- Partner with Production Supervisor for QAS review, HFI containment and structured problem solving.
- Assist line employees and maintainers with changeovers, breaks, equipment break downs, etc.
- Check, test and measure product for quality specifications. Examine for visual defects.
- Analyze spoilage as to cause and take corrective action. Analyze and record comments regarding the cause of production delays on production report. Conduct 10k audits, as needed.
- Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor-quality material or supplies noted.
- Operate equipment and assist production, as directed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned by Supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated Leadership abilities including mentorship and coaching
- Demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude; Maintainer Experience preferred
- Able to perform fine manipulations with hands
- Ability to navigate computer-based programs
- Familiar with PPE, material safety data sheets, and proper handling of chemicals/solvents
- Willing and able to work overtime and night shifts
- Willingness to participate in continued professional development
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to stand for a long duration in excess of 8 hours
- Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly
- Able to lift to 40 pounds
- Able to withstand heat, cold, vibrations, odors, fumes, and loud noise
- Able to climb stairs frequently
