Role description
This role is key in ensuring the quality of our products at Knottingley and ensuring ware is produced to necessary specifications. This role is responsible for maintaining these specifications via effective calibration of inspection equipment and support all areas of the Finished Products department. This role will require you to complete a Level 4 Quality Practitioner apprenticeship, along with various internal training courses.
Responsibilities:
  • Carryout first article metrology procedures on a number of bottles after a job change and on trials to ensure that they are produced to necessary specification.
  • Issue the drawings for each new job to the mould shop and planning department, and maintain a filing system of the drawings in order to provide an accurate reference point.
  • Maintain an effective communication flow between shop floor and supervision in order to maintain an accurate reference point.
  • Order gauges when necessary in accordance with the specification drawings for use on the shop floor.
  • Respond to quality problems on the shop floor, re-checking
Required skills / qualifications:
  • Interest in Quality and the aspiration to learn via apprenticeship training
  • Level 2 Maths & English or working towards
  • Good level of IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team
  • Strong communication skills

  • Salary minimum £27,472 – maximum £33,685 per annum
