Enterprise Architect

The purpose of the role is to analyze the current state of the company's technology, processes, and services to identify areas of improvement and create a plan for future development. Apply specialized knowledge of areas of business process, technology solutions, and methods to drive technology optimization and architecture reccomendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes and suggesting improvements.
  • Creating business architecture models to reflect the Ardagh's strategies and goals and creating and implementing business visions and goals.
  • Evaluating systems engineering, talent recruiting, and accounting models for discrepancies and vulnerabilities.
  • Suggesting ideas to reduce costs in IT and business leadership.
  • Determining and implementing build versus buy strategies, mentor personnel, and views of the overall business strategy.
  • Define and deliver major technical projects/strategies/architectures, demonstrate an understanding of the customers' business and commercial issues and contribute key insights.
  • Responsible for the creation, iteration, and maintenance of structures such as enterprise and business architectures, including the interpretation of business goals and drivers; the translation of business strategy and objectives into an "operating model"; the strategic assessment of current capabilities; the identification of required changes in capabilities; and the description of inter-relationships between people, organisation, service, process, data, information, technology and the external environment.
  • Define major technical projects for customers, influencing their view of acceptable investment level. Determines strategies, architectures, and proposals.
  • Shape technical proposals to be acceptable to the customer and may make solution/service trade-offs.
  • May manage a large design team, defining the approach to larger/more complex solution development and acceptance testing, and identifying strategic level risks and remedies.
  • Work with customers to understand their business strategy and develop IT strategies and architecture for significant areas of their business.
  • Stakeholder engagement to agree customer requirements and produce the design, setting high level criteria for the design of major solutions and exercising design control over the implementation.Develop, lead and support the ongoing monitoring or the regulatory SOX, ICOFR and ITGG compliance programs.

Required skills / qualifications:

  • Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)
  • Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
  • Experience in setting strategic technical direction.
  • Experience developing enterprise architecture governance processes and enforcing them
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field
