Purpose of the Role: We are seeking journeyman machinists who have the following skills. 

Key Accountabilities: 

• Will rebuild repair and overhaul all types of equipment used in the manufacture of 2 piece aluminum DandI beverage cans will fabricate or repair machine parts will install maintain and dismantle machines and mechanical equipment.
• Will perform building maintenance repair and minor alterations or improvements.
• Will be expected to contribute expertise in developing and implementing cost reduction quality improvement and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Will maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing company standards and procedures and complying with all applicable legal regulations.
• Will continue to take part in educational opportunities to increase or enhance his or her skills.
• Will communicate equipment status to supervisor and to shift personnel as required to insure that any potential problems andor procedure changes are understood.
• Will maintain records of precision plant tooling and precision machines.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: 

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot rebuild repair and overhaul mechanical equipment.
• Demonstrated aptitude for working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Demonstrated ability to use basic hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Demonstrated ability to use cutting torches.
• Demonstrated ability to use rigging equipment.
• Must have experience with any and all machine shop equipment setup operation and maintenance including manual mill lathe and surface grinder.
• Must have experience with designing and building fixtures.
• Tool and die experience a plus.
• Must have at least basic welding abilities stick mig tig Must have basic computer skills Demonstrated mathematical aptitude.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret written instructions and specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong communication skills a must.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
