Cyber Security Specialist IT

 

The primary responsibility for the Cyber Security Specialist is to support the embedding of Security in the delivery of IT and business goals in a manner that aligns with the Cyber Security strategy. You will influence and engage with employees across the organisation to instil and encourage a strong sense of security culture and awareness; and driving an improvement to Ardagh’s cyber security posture. As a Cyber Security Specialist you will be acting as a Security Champion within diverse business and IT teams.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  1. Provide tailored Cyber security advice, guidance and input to IT teams and business units

  2. Ensure IT teams and business units are equipped with the knowledge, processes and technology to meet security expectations

  3. Respond to ad hoc security requests from IT teams and business units

  4. Define, design, apply and support security controls to IT systems in our sites and own and define the architectural security standards for IT.

  5. Support / moderate with IT system standard owners and system vendors about proper system design to meet security requirements

  6. Drive technically the implementation of IT system & Cloud security controls

  7. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cyber security topics (incidents, operational issues etc.) for assigned IT Systems

  8. Support the roadmap for controls deployments in IT & Cloud security in accordance with risk posture

 

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, IT engineering, or related field

  • An MSc Information Security or equivalent would be an advantage

  • Information Security and/or Information Technology industry certification (CISSP, CISM or equivalent) strongly preferred

  • Other desired certifications include information security certifications such as SABSA etc.

  • Proven working knowledge of ISO27001, specifically the protection of privacy, integrity, and accessibility of data and information

  • Proven working knowledge of NIST 800.53 controls and the ability to advise IT and the business on key controls they must adhere to within sites

  • Knowledge of NISD (Network and Information Security Directive)

  • Knowledge of Cloud security and good practices

  • Ability to support with the identification and assessment of vulnerabilities, security risks and issues

  • An understanding of Identity & Access Management controls and requirements

  • Proven ability to self-manage and take ownership and responsibility for embedding Cyber within IT and Business teams

  • Ability to oversee and manage the deployment of Cyber change across the organization

  • Ability to act as a Cyber Champion and Consultant across Ardagh

  • An understanding of security concepts such as threat vectors, event and incident management, cyber threats and attacks etc. and the impact the evolution of these have on IT and the business and security controls needed to mitigate these

  • Proven ability to understand the businesses critical assets and network infrastructure, including applications, middleware and databases in order to provide prioritized guidance

  • Proficient in reporting to leadership on the security posture across IT and the business, key gaps and recommendations

  • Organised with a proven ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and utilise time effectively

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities

  • Strong leadership and analytical skills

  • Fluent in spoken and written English

  • Prior work experience in information security is essential

  • Prior experience liaising with IT and business teams and providing Cyber advice, consultancy and guidance is beneficial

  • Experience in leading large multi-disciplinary teams is essential

  • Experience in identifying risks to both IT and OT/IoT systems

  • Experience in managing, implementing and deploying Cyber change projects across organisations

  • Proficient in leading security meetings with key internal and external stakeholders and managing relationships with IT and the business

  • Cross cultural sensitivity and flexibility
