Summary of Role:

 

Key areas of responsibility will be to develop and improve Height Changes along with related support functions for the manufacture of Aluminium Beverage Cans. You will also support the maintenance, overhaul and general up-keep of Plant and Production equipment.

The position will report to the Engineering Coordinator.

 

  • Develop safe working practices for routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Responsible for Planning and Leading Height Change Team with hands on Function
  • Develop methods to reduce height change times.
  • Develop ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Develop and implement ongoing changes to existing Plant Machinery and installation of New Equipment (Support and manage projects where required).
  • Develop Work Instructions & JSAs for Height change procedures for all activities.
  • To control spend to budget and to develop targets. (To include the use of benchmarking)
  • To develop Team / department to maximize efficiency.
  • To assist in the development of Engineering and Production to facilitate effective Height Changes.
  • To develop good communication skills with the Engineering Team, Height Change/ CI team and production department to enhance integration and team spirit.
  • To manage maintenance improvement projects
  • Identify and Implement continuous improvements, monitor data and implement improvements with controls Measures.
  • Develop a comprehensive training package to fulfill the Plant requirements.

Professional Requirements:

 

Qualification:   Time served apprentice level or equivalent in engineering practices.

                                    HND/HNC or equivalent is desirable, Electrical Qualification an
                                    advantage. FLT Licence or willing to train

Computer Skills:          MS Office packaging to include Word and Excel would be an
                                    advantage.

  • Good communicator, team worker and effective listener
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good decision making in a demanding fast paced environment.
  • Must be action orientated and a desire to achieve results / persevere.
  • Must be flexible and with appropriate training be willing to work in other areas to support team members, occasionally at short notice.
