Internship Internal Communications (m/f/d) located in Bonn, Germany or Chester, UK

 

Duration: 6 months

Start: April

 

A global packaging manufacturer is looking for an intern, to join their internal communications team based in Chester, UK or Bonn, Germany. The successful candidate will report to the Communications Manager. The primary focus will be to help us further develop our internal communication by restructuring and updating our communication via our intranet, evaluating of new communication channels for an internal audience as well as supporting the publication of our monthly internal newsletter.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Working in an international environment with our Internal Communications team, supporting them to establish the internal communications strategy
  • Supporting the Communications Manager on the redevelopment of the company’s intranet (sharepoint) including the update and implementation of changes as well as composition of high-quality content for the platform
  • Evaluating existing and new internal communication channels
  • Assisting the team with the internal newsletter and other support on miscellaneous communications projects
  • Undertaking other responsibilities as they arise.

 

Skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant third level qualification in communications/PR or marketing
  • First experience in a PR/communications/marketing either in-house or in-agency
  • A passion for communications with a keen interest in digital communication
  • Excellent writing, organisational, and interpersonal skills, coupled with a team spirit
  • Experience with Sharepoint is a distinct advantage
  • A flare for creating content across platforms with an understanding of the digital landscape and current trends
  • A self-starter with ability to think on your feet, a desire to embrace responsibility and work to tight deadlines across several projects
  • A clear communicator who is comfortable working with a wide range of people and understands different needs – from highly technical engineers, to legal, to sales, and the wider business
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse projects in a dynamic environment
  • Fluency in English required. A second European language is advantageous, as is previous experience of working in an international company.
