Plant Controller Veenendaal - Fulltime


Are you an experienced Financial Controller with expertise in managing all financial systems, reporting accurately and able to analyse the results and advise the plant management team? Are you interested in working in a clean manufacturing environment? Then read further!

Ardagh Aluminium Packaging Netherlands is currently looking for a Plant Controller to join and support our Veenendaal plant management team.


Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Financial/management accounting and reporting, with an emphasis on accurate, timely information every month.
  • Support plant management with financial tools, unit cost information, and profitability analysis to implove plant performance
  • Development and monitoring of cost management/cost reduction strategies with plant management
  • Use the Standard Business Tools and reporting initiated by the Central Teams to provide internal plant information
  • Monitor and analyse results during ME close
  • Provide accurate and consistent comments on the main deviations in results
  • Assist plant management in creation of CARs according to Group rules
  • Assist on cost analysis for new products and processes
  • Maintain the Cost Reduction Database for all Capex, Restructuring and Cost Reduction Projects
  • Prepare budget and forecasts
  • Ensure the methodology for standard costing is consistently applied in the plant for the day to day new item creation: Yearly/budget exercise done together with central manufacturing team for the Routing / Rate part
  • Check that good information will be sent into central systems
  • Ensure Group approvals (DOA’s) and internal controls framework are properly followed in the plant
  • Make sure proper stock takes and cycle counts are done (in line with Group policy)
  • Manual accrual determination and analysis in ME close (stock provisions, claims) / Rebates under the responsibility of Sales Central team / all other month end accruals rules to be agreed between plant supports and Accounting: in principle booking done by Accounting team


Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Successful experience in high volume manufacturing with a solid cost accounting background is preffered
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and ERP applications (SAP)
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills (English, Dutch)
  • Proactive, hands-on, results oriented management style
  • Strong service orientation and ability to work as a team with local management
  • Thorough, highly organized and efficient work habits
  • Ability to proactively address and solve problems
  • Ability to challenge the status-quo while effectively working in multiple team-based
  • Balance detail orientation with “big picture” understanding of the business
  • Ability to travel as needed to plant/corporate locations.
