Production Manager

Ardagh Metal Packaging Netherlands B.V. is a leading producer of cans for the beverage industry, based in Oss. With over 8 million cans produced daily for various major brands, we deliver high-quality sustainable packaging to our customers. As part of the Ardagh Group, which is also active in the glass industry in addition to metal packaging, we strive to optimize production processes and provide a safe working environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Production Manager to join our team in Oss.

Job Description
As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading the operational processes in the production of cans. Your role is to ensure that our production capacity is optimized while ensuring a safe workspace, highest standards of quality and efficiency, always with our customers in mind. The key task is to create, maintain, and further develop a safe, healthy, and high quality working environment for all employees and visitors.

Responsibilities:
•    Safety and Health: Ensure the health and safety of employees, with safety as the top priority.
•    Product Quality: Ensure that cans are manufactured in accordance with company processes, product specifications, and the highest quality standards. Continuously monitor and enforce quality control measures to maintain exceptional product integrity at all stages of production.
•    Production Goals: Achieve the set output targets for production on an ongoing basis.
•    Equipment Management: Monitor the condition and reliability of production equipment and ensure continuous improvement in processes and performance.
•    Leadership: Coach, mentor, and troubleshoot with production teams using a situational leadership style, ranging from directive to servant leadership.
•    Trust and Excellence: Create and maintain a work environment based on trust and excellence.
•    Personal Development: Manage the personal development of the production teams.
•    Problem Solving: Analyze breakdowns, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues.
•    Lean Manufacturing: Support the further implementation of the Ardagh Metal Production System (AMPS) based on the Lean Manufacturing principles to minimize waste and continuously improve processes. This includes leading initiatives for process optimization, identifying bottlenecks, and applying methodologies like 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
•    Team Contribution: Make a strong and effective contribution to the plant management team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
•    Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience at a site management level. Experience in can-making is an advantage.  
•    Education: Preferably a university degree or equivalent.
•    Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams and operational processes. 
•    People and Machinery Focus: Experience in leading both people and optimizing the operation of machinery and equipment.
•    Lean Manufacturing: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and process improvement techniques. Ability to effectively apply Lean principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
•    Language Skills: Proficiency in both Dutch and English.
