Primary Function:

  • Visually examine and inspect in-process ware, perform physical tests, perform visual and specification inspections including spot checks using established sampling plan. 
  • Follow all SOPs and quality procedures.
  • Reselect and repack ware. 
  • Pull Mould numbers or reselect Moulds on the lehr and perform various other duties assigned with line reselect.
  • Unjam equipment, perform line flow, run samples and evaluate quality based on requirements.
  • Operate label machine.
  • Make minor equipment adjustments where capable; i.e. wipe off a reflector.
  • Properly load automatic carton equipment or assemble carton parts manually when necessary, perform various duties associated with palletizer/unitzer/forklift operations, visually examine glassware and packware in cartons. 
  • Unjam single lines and monitor line flow.
  • Operate baler, compactor, power sweeper, and empty glass hoppers to keep the packing room clean. 
  • Perform miscellaneous, unskilled duties as assigned.

 

Tools and Equipment:

  • All types of bottle gauges and measuring devices, computer, minilab, fork truck, power sweeper, automatic palletizers, automatic carton machines, stitchers, case packers, baler, trash compactor, hopper, and other miscellaneous tools and equipment.
  • Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department.

 

Working Procedure:

  • Perform all duties required to ensure glassware conforms to specifications following all SOPs and quality procedures.
  • Fills out required paperwork and check sheets as directed by supervisors and managers. 
  • Performs any general laborer type duties as directed by the supervisor, and performs other miscellaneous procedures and duties.
  • Must perform assigned job duties within acceptable time standards after receiving proper training.

 

Environmental Conditions:

  • Inside and outside work. Noise levels over 90 dbs. Carton dust exposure.
  • Temperatures summer temps to 105 degrees.
  • Hourly Union Environment
  • 24/7 Operations
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Good communication with coworkers supervisors and managers is required.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others is required.
