Role overview:

A multifaceted role aimed at bolstering operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement within the manufacturing process, particularly focused on the Front End operations. This role involves providing comprehensive support to all facets of operations within the designated area of expertise, including resource coordination during overhauls, managing equipment and process issues, overseeing routine and predictive maintenance activities, facilitating plant and line start-ups, conducting qualification trials, delivering training sessions, and conducting thorough audits of assets. The primary objective is to ensure seamless coordination and optimization of manufacturing processes, fostering safety, reliability, and productivity while aligning with established protocols and driving towards operational excellence.

 

Key Responsabilities:

    • Oversee Front End Operations: Take charge of Front End manufacturing operations, including resource coordination during overhauls, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and ensuring smooth plant start-ups and qualification trials.
    • Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Manage routine and predictive maintenance activities at manufacturing plants, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maximizing operational efficiency.
    • Facilitate Resource Coordination: Coordinate resources and activities during overhauls and maintenance processes, collaborating closely with plant teams to ensure efficient execution and minimal disruption to production schedules.
    • Lead Start-Up Initiatives: Oversee plant and line start-up processes, ensuring proper equipment calibration, process validation, and adherence to safety protocols to achieve successful production launches.
    • Conduct Qualification Trials: Plan and execute qualification trials for new processes or equipment installations, gathering data, analyzing results, and making recommendations for process optimization and improvement.
    • Deliver Training Sessions: Develop and conduct training sessions for plant personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards to enhance skill levels and ensure compliance.
    • Perform Asset Audits: Conduct comprehensive audits of manufacturing assets, including equipment, tools, and spare parts inventory, to ensure accuracy, availability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Optimize Workflow Processes: Identify areas for process improvement and optimization within manufacturing operations, implementing strategies to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and minimize waste.
    • Collaborate on Cost Reduction Initiatives: Work closely with department heads and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and revenue generation within manufacturing processes.
    • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to manufacturing, assessing their potential impact and relevance to operational strategies.
    • Evaluate and Implement Technologies: Evaluate the feasibility and benefits of adopting new technologies within manufacturing operations, collaborating with IT teams and vendors to implement and integrate these technologies effectively.
    • Support Business Objectives: Align manufacturing goals and activities with overall business objectives, ensuring that operational efforts contribute to the achievement of organizational targets and performance metrics.
    • Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical expertise and guidance to management and cross-functional teams, supporting decision-making processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
    • Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, equipment manuals, and safety protocols to facilitate knowledge transfer and compliance.
    • Respond to Emergencies: Act promptly to address emergencies or critical issues within manufacturing operations, coordinating resources and implementing contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure operational continuity.
    • Assignment to other subjects is not excluded.

 

Professional requirements

 

  • 5 years formal apprenticeship in a technical subject
  • Graduated mechanical engineer or equivalent technical education
  • 5+ years of experience in can making industry (preferably Front End operations)
