Human Resources Generalist
Winston-Salem, NC, US, 27107
To provide leadership and support for the HR process for the local manufacturing facility. The position reports to the Plant HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the plant’s search and recruitment efforts, coordinate interviews, prepare and/present offer letters.
- Develop local technical and college recruitment efforts.
- Post internal hourly positions.
- Maintain employee information in HRIS and applicant information for AAP for internal/external candidates.
- Facilitate and track new hire training.
- Conduct new hire orientation including benefit programs.
- Implement HR programs in the area of performance management, employee development and retention.
- Coordinate with office personnel to ensure accurate manpower planning, payroll, vacation scheduling, Kronos and Lawson programs.
- Conduct training for HR, benefits, and other programs as appropriate.
- Report and manage attendance programs, including FMLA and disability leaves.
- Support timely filing and administration of workers compensation claims.
- Champion appropriate conduct during all meetings.
- Advise management in disciplinary matters, and grievance matters/hearings.
- Work to ensure fair and consistent application of Rexam policies and programs.
- Assist plant leadership team with other projects, programs, assignments, as directed.
Requirements:
- HR professional with at least 2 years experience, preferably previous experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrable success ideally in a broad generalist HR administrative or supervisory role.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees especially during difficult and challenging situations.
- Knowledge in the area of talent acquisition, performance management and retention.
- Familiarity with automated payroll, record systems, employee data bases, timekeeping software.
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Assist the plant with communication planning and delivery.
- Familiarity with delivering training to employees on a range of topics.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel.
