Role Description:

The primary role of our Maintenance Supervisor is departmental leadership of hourly personnel and coordination of all plant maintenance activities and related processes.  Strong maintenance systems knowledge and electrical background a plus.  Major responsibilities include directing the daily activities of the maintenance personnel.  This requires a strong understanding of maintenance systems and applications.  Provides consistent administration of company policies, procedures and work practices.  Works closely with manufacturing supervisors.  Tracks and reports daily activity in safety, quality, production costs and employee relations.  Executes company training, continuous improvement and employee development initiatives.  Facilitates team involvement in all areas of operation.  Makes real-time front line production-related decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct hourly employees to plan and manage maintenance programs and business metrics
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet daily goals
  • Ensure effective employee relations through coaching and development; resolves employee relations matters, including complaints and grievances
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, maintenance and productions schedules in order to meet customer requirements
  • Ensure safe operation of all equipment; trains employees as necessary and promptly investigations and reports safety concerns
  • Lead ISO 14001 program
  • Prepare periodic EHS documents for government agencies
  • Inspect materials, product and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions and determine best corrective action
  • Lead EHS audits

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in Engineering
  • At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing facility
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics and TPM systems
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean or other improvement philosophies
  • SAP preferred
