We’re looking for a Shift Technician to join our Production Team at Wrexham. As a Shift Technician you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of both front-end and back-end equipment. This includes running and maintaining critical plant machinery such as Presses, Body-Makers, Trimmers, Conveying, Decorators, LSMs, Neckers and light testers.

 

You will perform regular quality checks, support Height/Size Changes and take part in overhauls and project work as required. Additionally, you will support the maintenance of all plant services.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Running and maintaining both front-end and backend equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with wider teams to continuously improve processes.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and support
  • Height changes.
  • Participate in overhauls, project work and plant
  • service maintenance
  • Achieving production targets, implementing
  • spoilage controls and maintaining housekeeping
  • standards in line with 6S
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols 

 

Skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible, action-orientated approach with a genuine desire to achieve results
  • Willingness, with appropriate training, to support other areas of the business when required
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Outlook)

Hours of Work: 12 hour shifts - 4 on / 4 off (2 days / 2 nights)
