Demand Planner, Ardagh Metal Packaging-Europe 

 

Your mission:
This is a European level role analysing the demand communicated by Regions/Key accounts and plans the total demand to be delivered. You will be supporting the Demand Planning Director with the implementation of Demand Planning Process and Forecasts statistical tools considering different time horizons.  


Key Responsibilities:
•    Working very closely with regional sales and demand teams, understand gaps between short term weekly and short-term monthly forecast. Maintain established global weekly report. Consolidate Monthly / Weekly demand numbers in central planning process.
•    Preparation of demand history and templates to ensure effective running of the forecasting model and technical tuning of the forecasting tool to maximize results. Support central team with running Volume Clinics with key accounts and regions. 
•    Perform root cause analysis in collaboration with sales team to understand past performance and highlight inconsistencies in future plans. Communication of the demand forecasts in ways that are readily understood in different functions and regions.
•    Challenge the latest Demand Plan from the regions/ key accounts, understand underlying assump-tions and compare with the Operations Demand Plan. Measure and communicate risks and uncer-tainties inherent in the forecasts and support for decision making that results from forecasts creat-ed.
•    On time delivery of forecasts to support the monthly S&OP cycle.
•    Lead the critical activity of demand forecasting, integrating baseline forecasts with sales & market-ing insights to produce demand plans against which supply network is optimised. Responsible for analyzing SKU level forecasts on consistency with previous update and initiate follow up with re-gions on deviation based on decision-making framework.
•    Creation of rigorously developed statistical demand unit forecasts primarily at Can-type/Ship-To level in monthly buckets for Cans and Ends.
•    Maintain relationship with commercial colleagues particularly the maintenance of forecast credibility. Support central commercial teams in adding additional market and customer insight, while chal-lenging unsupported ‘gut feel’ inputs.


Professional Requirements:
•    +5 Years of planning experience.
•    Ideally fast-moving consumer goods.
•    Advanced communication skills: to be able to explain and persuade non- specialists of the complex constraints, risks and choices available in simple every-day language. Accurate reporting and data analysis.
•    Inquisitiveness: recognition that planning is just a model of the real world and continually improving understanding of how things really work is essential to improving planning performance.
•    Planning expertise: an acute understanding of risks, possibilities and how to evaluate outcome to ensure stable plans that will survive inevitable variation from expectation.
•    Understanding of advanced planning approaches, tools and solutions. Specifically in analytical techniques and in software solutions.
•    Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and embedding new ways of working.
•    Excellent problem-solving ability.
•    Flexibility to structure and prioritise your own work.
•    Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly.
•    Expert user of the MS Office suite, especially advance Excel.
•    SAP IBP experience will be an added advantage.
